Titus’ background in design goes back well over thirty years. Straight out of high school he studied interior design at the Centre of Applied Arts, then one of Athens’ most esteemed design colleges. He completed the three-year course in just two years, as he was ‘bumped up’ a year three months into the course.
While in the second year, his talent was recognised by one of his tutors who employed him to mentor him and to work part-time in his private studio. Following graduation he continued studying graphic design at the Munich Institute of Graphic Arts for three years, where he graduated with the highest mark.
His working experience in the UK goes back to 1979, when he arrived here and started off as a freelance interior designer. He has since participated in a huge variety of prestigious design projects. For example, the iconic design of Cafe St Pierre, built in Clerkenwell Green in 1983, was the pre-cursor for the crisp, simple design that has characterised Pizza Express restaurants for two decades. He was also the creative ‘brains’ behind the corporate identity and marketing brochures for Currency Management Corporation Plc (deal4free - now known as CMC Markets) during the time when, in the space of just two years, an eight-man team became one of the biggest players in the world of internet-based forex and derivatives trading, now worth in excess of 800M.
One of Titus’ key attributes is his natural ability to interpret a brief and ‘tune in’ to clients’ thinking with remarkable accuracy and ease. His democratic leadership style, practical approach and natural warmth make him a real joy to work with and the perfect choice to head our team.
“There is only one perfect solution to a design problem. We may not always find it but we must aim to get as close as humanly possible.”
